Gwen to Make L.A.M.B. PerfumeThanks to Gwen, girls can now complement their style with the launch of perfume for the L.A.M.B. fashion line. Gwen thinks the fragrance will complete her L.A.M.B. clothing and accessory line, telling the Associated Press, "It's very prestigious as a designer to have a fragrance. It's a milestone with L.A.M.B., and I don't want L.A.M.B. to go away. The fragrance makes it feel real, like it'll be here for a little while." Although the 37-year-old singer does not have a name for her fragrance, yet, Catherine Walsh, Senior Vice President of American Frangrances, assures, "Like Gwen's highly acclaimed L.A.M.B. fashions and accessories, this will be no ordinary perfume...From the packaging to the bottle design to the distinctive scent itself, we will be working very closely with Gwen to ensure that her signature fragrance captures her rare spirit, style and warmth." The perfume is to hit stores next fall. Coty Inc. also currently produces fragrances for Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs, Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Jessica Parker. L.A.M.B. fashion, which bares the acronym of her popular solo album, Love, Angel, Music, Baby, began in 2003 when she teamed up with stylist Andrea Lieberman. Her fashions have been shown at New York Fashion Week and include handbags, shoes, and watches. Fashion Design schools have also been reported to participate in product design. Gwen says tweaking the fragrance is more like creating a song than designing a dress because there are no conventional standards involved with music writing. She also states that she is a fan of more casual clothing, but is now featuring a sophisticated look for the promotion of her new album released on December 5th, The Sweet Escape. |
