Gwen and MadonnaGwen insists, amidst contrary reports, that there is no bad blood between her and Madonna. Not only that, Gwen freely admitted that she has used the pop superstar as a role model throughout her career.

The singer relayed in a cell phone interview that the two have much in common, including Italian-American heritage and British husbands.

She told Elle magazine, "It is weird that we have all of these similarities. Madonna's had us over for dinner and stuff, and she's always been very nice to me."

Gwen confessed the singer seemed less-than-impressed when she first mentioned she was recording a solo album featuring dance tunes.

She added, "I remember telling Madonna I was going to do an '80s dance record and she rolled her eyes, because I think when you've lived through it like she did, she's like, 'Whatever.'

"But a lot of my influence came from her early work, like directly, like a Xerox."

Looking at a picture of the two, there sure are some striking similarities!
